SBS Initiative: Black in Academia speaker series, SBS seminar series and conference

Black in Academia speaker series, SBS seminar series and conference invited student presentations and structured networking opportunities to provide visible role models, strengthen scholarly identity, and expand academic networks.

This initiative delivered two speaker series, a seminar series and a conference showcasing Black scholars. Conferences invited presentations from academics and SBS students, providing structured networking opportunities. The target group was Black postgraduate researchers and those interest in postgraduate study, with wider benefits for institutional research culture and the broader postgraduate community.
