Surrey Black Scholars Initiatives

SBS Initiatives at Surrey were put in place to support researchers experience. Each initiative addressed financial, academic or social dimensions of doctoral participation, and intentionally incorporating mechanisms for institutional learning, including mentoring, inclusive supervision practices, staff development and the processes involved in this programme evaluation.

SBS Scholars engaged with these initiatives by attending events, applying for bursary grants, or building their network through career opportunities, with some students leading as SBS Representatives to champion these initiatives and foster community between scholars.
